Devnagari: पाखनवेद
Pronunciation: paa-kh-un-vaed

Pākhanvéd is a perennial herb mostly found in temperate Himalayas from Kashmir to Bhutan at an altitude of 2000-3000m. Pākhanvéd reaches up to 50 cm height.

Pākhanvéd’s rhizome is the most used part for medicinal purposes.

Pākhanvéd is mostly used for the removal of kidney and urinary tract stones due to its antilithic property. According to Ayurveda, consuming Pākhanvéd powder increases urine production and helps in easy removaI of stones due to its Mutral (diuretic) property.
